Event hosts are a kind of skilled job that has recently undergone a big and dramatic change due to SL's recent economic model.
If you want to attract a huge crowd of people to come to visit your place, the best way for you is to announce events in the Events list, where every people in-world are able to see your announcements and decide by themself to join your event or not.
Event hosting usually requires many of your own interpersonal skills, especially the ones about handling other people, such as RL communication skills, ability to entertain other people and try to make them have fun or feel at home by attending your events, and the extent of imagination in coming up with new ideas to make your event always lively as long as possible.
Normally events in SL can range from very simple things, like general discussions to very highly complex, such as a fashion show, a boxing and chess competitions, or a medieval tournament.
